This
problem is usually due to the quality of the water used to make up the reagent.
Even trace amounts of alpha-amylase in the water (due to slight algal growth)
will cause problems. In such cases it is
necessary to boil and cool the water before using it to dissolve the substrate.
What is the cause of the Alpha-Amylase Assay Reagent (R-CAAR4) and/or Amylase HR Reagent (R-AMHR4) turning yellow before addition of enzyme?
