Of these substrates, we could only recommend wheat arabinoxylan for kinetic studies on xylanases. We can also supply CM-Cellulose 4M (low degree of substitution) for kinetic studies on cellulases (reducing sugar method). The dyed substrates are excellent for the routine assay of enzymic activity but, because they are chemically modified, they are not ideal for kinetic work.
