No. The beta-limit dextrin is produced from partially lintnerised maize starch by hydrolysis to the limit by pure barley beta-amylase. This material has been treated to remove maltose (maltose ~ 1%) and is for use in automated procedures for the measurement of alpha-amylase in malt, e.g. using Scalar Flow Injection Analysis equipment. The individual oligosaccharide components have not been separated or characterised.
Can β-Limit Dextrin (P-BLDX) be used for characterisation limit-dextrinase?
