What is the calculation of the conversion factor used for preparation of sulphite (sulfite) standards in the sulphite kits (K-SULPH, K-TSULPH, K-ETSULPH, K-FSULPH)?

Modified on: Fri, 24 Sep, 2021 at 11:33 AM

The standard supplied with the sulphite kits is sodium sulphite (126.043 g/mol) and the results of the kit assays are given as mg/L of sulphur dioxide (64.066 g/mol).

The conversion therefore is of sodium sulphite to sulphur dioxide.

Calculation of conversion factor:

126.043 g/mol / 64.066  g/mol = 1.967
