We do not have accurate degree of polymerisation data for mannan from ivory nut but believe the value to be in the range of 15-20. It does not contain small soluble oligosaccharides. However, you can solubilise the mannan in 1% sodium hydroxide and then neutralise with acetic acid. It will remain in solution (at 1% concentration) for at least 20 h at room temperature.
