Is K-TDFR suitable for measurement of Dietary Fiber for insects?

Modified on Wed, 1 Sep, 2021 at 12:21 PM

The definition of Dietary Fiber (DF) is based on human physiology and particularly lack of digestion in the small intestine.

Many insects can digest DF in their gut. This could be due to microorganism colonies in the gut.

Therefore K-TDFR is not suitable measurement of Dietary Fiber for insects.
