Is there a reason why use of NaOH replaced KOH in the K-YBGL method procedure?

This change represents one made only to the chemicals/buffers we recommend using, all components of the kit remain the same.

This method change was made after investigation into customer queries where there were issues observed with the pH for specific sample types. We realised some customers were not using the correct concentration of KOH (Potassium Hydroxide).

KOH on sale through some suppliers is not 100% pure. As such different concentrations of KOH may be purchased, and hence could impact the pH in the kit, we are now moved to using NaOH as it is always 99% pure.
