Can fresh or wet samples be used for analysis in the K-YBGL method?

We would recommend drying and milling your samples prior to the analysis.
Fresh/wet samples containing moisture may provide difficultly when the samples are being milled 

You can record weight loss resulting from moisture removal and correct final beta-glucan determination for moisture removed using the equation below:




The yeast control provided with the kit should be analysed throughout the entire procedure along side your samples. 
When you receive the stated beta-glucan content for the control it will assure you that the analysis was performed correctly.
