Is it possible to replace the GOPOD determination with HPLC analysis?

Modified on Thu, 12 Aug, 2021 at 11:59 AM

We recommend following the procedure exactly as describes in the assay protocol as this is how the method was validated. Any changes made to the procedure must be validated internally.

Where some analysts and methods recommend HPLC instead of GOPOD analysis, we believe the GOPOD glucose determination is the most accurate and reliable biochemical test.

When running HPLC, any other sugar in the sample could interfere with the determined value for glucose. We use HPLC routinely in determining the oligosaccharides in soluble dietary fiber, but have never considered using it for glucose determination when there is already a proven reliable, specific and robust method to measure the glucose (GOPOD Reagent).
