One way to test this is to run an assay according to Format (A) and also another with a format where NaOH (Format B) or DMSO (Format D) is used. 


When using Format (B) or (D), all starch will be measured. When using Format (A), resistant starch is only partially measured.

A difference in these results would indicate the presence of resistant starch.
