When preparing the colour reagent for K-PHYT (a mix of solution A and B) should be yellow/orange in colour.
A blue colour may indicate phosphorus contamination either in the chemicals or vessels used for the preparation of the reagent as this is the colour change (yellow to blue) which will be seen when the assay is carried out.
