This the β-Glucan Assay Kit (Yeast and Mushroom) has been developed for the measurement of β-glucan in mushroom and mycelial products, i.e. 1,3:1,6-β-glucan. This kit has been validated on a wide range of mushroom samples as well as pure beta-glucan samples (e.g. schleroglucan, curdlan).

This kit is not suitable for the measurement of 1,3:1,6-β-glucan in the presence of cellulose (1,4-β-D-glucan) and cereal β-glucans (1,3:1,4 β-glucan), as the method would not distinguish between these β-glucans. The yeast and mushroom samples usually do not contain 1,3:1,4 β-glucan.
