In the Raffinose/Sucrose/D-Glucose assay, the lower limit of detection is ~ 0.3 mmoles glucose / 100 g when using a minimum absorbance change of 0.01.
For sucrose and GOS the lower limit of detection is ~ 0.3 mmoles / 100 g when using a minimum absorbance change of 0.01 above that of glucose (i.e. absolute value of 0.02).
The minimum absorbance change value that is used should be decided by the end-user as the reliability of this value is dictated by the skill level of the analyst and equipment being used.
