Pachyman (P-PACHY)

According to the P-PACHY data sheet, it is not soluble in water at room temperature. To what extent is it soluble at higher temperatures, for example at 80˚C?
Pachyman is not soluble in water even at 80˚C.  However, CM-Pachyman (carboxymethylated pachyman) is soluble and is a good substrate for endo-1,3-beta-glu...

Is there any way to solubilise Pachyman (1,3-beta-D-glucan)?
Pachyman can be solubilised in 5% sodium hydroxide.  On neutralisation with acetic acid, the polymer will come out of solution again.  This is the reason...

What is the difference between Pachyman (P-PACHY) and Curdlan (P-CURDL)?
Both molecules are essentially 1,3-linked though Pachyman may have a small amount of 1,6-linked glucose. Pachyman has a lower molecular weight than Curd...
