Is there any way to solubilise Pachyman (1,3-beta-D-glucan)?

Modified on: Wed, 5 May, 2021 at 3:47 PM

Pachyman can be solubilised in 5% sodium hydroxide.  On neutralisation with acetic acid, the polymer will come out of solution again.  This is the reason why we offer CM-Pachyman (colloidal solution) and CM-Curdlan (totally soluble).  Both are good substrates for endo-1,3-beta-glucanase.
