Is there a stopping Point for K-YBGL so the assay may be completed over two days?

There is a stopping point which can be used if this assay is to be performed over two days.

On Day One for procedure A (Solubilisation and partial hydrolysis of total glucan), it is possible to take the analysis to step A 9 as per  β-Glucan (Yeast & Mushroom) (K-YBGL) and keep the filtrate over night at 4°C.

On Day TwoPart B of the total glucan analysis (Measurement of total glucan plus D-glucose in sucrose and free D-glucose) can be completed. Before proceeding with the analysis it is important to first bring the filtrate to room temperature before proceeding.

On Day Two, It is recommended that procedure B (MEASUREMENT OF α-GLUCAN (phytoglycogen and starch) plus D-glucose in sucrose and free D-glucose) be performed.

Where this is done we recommend always running the kit control to ensure the assay is functioning as expected.

We do not recommend storage for longer than 1 day and if you wish to do this you would need to validate this internally.
